My name is Kathryn and I have been living on the beautiful island of Okinawa for the past 8 years. I spent most of that time immersing myself in the culture, learning about the history of the island and the way of life past and present.

In 2011 I decided to start sharing my experiences using YouTube as my medium. Shortly thereafter I added a blog as well as various social media to include Twitter, Tumblr, FaceBook, Instagram and even a podcast for those who choose to listen rather than watch videos or read.

In my over 1000 blog posts and videos I have shared everything from ways to make the transition to life in Okinawa easier to the fun and interesting hidden treasures found around the island. There is a little something for everyone!

  1. Hello Kathryn,

My name is Diego. I will be arriving in Japan next week and really would like to purchase a skyline gtr v-spec II. The dealerships are ridiculous and so are the auction houses. Is there a way I can contact a private seller while still in the states so I can hit the ground running when I arrive?

    • Hello Diego,
Thanks so much for your question. In order for sellers to take you seriously and to ensure you have the means to purchase a car (license, parking) it is really best to start your search once arriving in Japan. This will also give you the opportunity to check out what is available in your local area. As far as Skyline GT-R V Spec II goes I highly doubt that you will find one cheaper than you are seeing at the auctions. The going price for them right now is between 2 and 7 million yen. I’ve seen a few up from private sellers in past years but they were never under 4 million.

  2. nice this pic…beautiful…this place?
